Oscar Watch Guide 2022
An easy guide on how to watch every Oscar nominated film before March 27th.
For as much as I love having movie theaters open across the country and being able to see any movie I would like, it made making this list much more challenging compared to last year. I mentioned them all in a special section, but there are a handful of movies that you can only see in theaters as I write this. For most of those movies, it is unclear when they’ll be available to watch at home, or on what streaming service. If I had to guess West Side Story will end up on Hulu before the ceremony. Most of the other ones in a theater should be available to rent before the ceremony, except for Drive My Car and The Worst Person In The World I imagine. Would be better to just not risk it and go see everything currently in a theater there so you don’t miss out. For a handful of other movies, they’ve been out of theaters for a while and are available to rent now, looking at you King Richard and Dune, but it is unclear when they’ll be back on HBO Max for those not looking to shell out additional money to rent them. I put them both under HBO Max, but who knows when that will be. Fortunately, the nominations came out a bit earlier compared to usual, so you have over six weeks to cross everything off the list. I included a link to all of the shorts in one place for those unavailable right now, they become available on February 25th up until the ceremony on March 27th I imagine.
